We supply and stock Aluminized type 2 steel, this is a type of steel that has gone through a hot dipping process in commercially pure Aluminium. The result is that the steel substrate is protected in service over the long term due to the electrochemical behavior of the bi-layer; duplex coating. The aluminum layer of the coating provides low-level galvanic protection that directly prevents long-term substrate corrosion.
The Aluminized type 2 material has a coating weight of 300 g/m2.The material is produced to ASTM A463/A 463M and can be supplied in sheet or coil form and also corrugated.
It is intended for use in applications requiring corrosion resistance. As a result it is an ideal low cost solution for insulation cladding. A full data sheet is available on request from BS Thermal.
We can also supply other alternatives including Aluminized type 1. Both products can be used for metal jacketing.
