BS Thermal super springs are manufactured from 5.00mm heavy duty stainless steel plate and are designed to be used with heavy duty banding on tanks and vessels especially where high winds may be a problem, the width of banding is decided by the contractor but typically can be 40mm – 75mm.
Assembly
Cut stainless steel banding into equal length to fit circumference of the vessel. Affix to each end of the banding section one angle by punching or drilling holes through the banding - aligning with the 4 holes in the angle - and secure with screws and locking nuts from underneath the banding. Repeat this process on all sections. Next fit the draw bolt through the angles, fit one spring onto each end of the draw bolt followed by one washer and one hex nut. Repeat this process until the circle is completed. To tension the banding tighten each unit equally until strapping is securely in place taking extreme care that equal tension is obtained on both the banding and the expansion unit.
